Cards...

Here are some cards I've painted using my handmade paper...The paper is made out of old greeting cards and general paper one tends to collect when you travel...

I am really pleased to be working with a natural born angel on some affirmation cards...

Rachel has also offered some of her wonderful paintings to go with 'Turn Your World Around'...

I'll put it all together and it will be ready in a few weeks...I've also been creating some cards from handmade paper. They will be sold at Avalon Books in Victoria...

Book in a week update...

Hi friends...

I have heard back from my friend regarding the 'book in a week', and the concept really resonated with him. Everyone I speak to gets a bit of a buzz about the idea.

I have now contacted a designer friend to help me turn it into an e-book. I'm putting it out into the universe that I produce some wonderful illustrations to accompany it...That of course will be for the printed version so i'll likely use some photographs for the e-book...all that landscape photography will pay off!

Remember I always welcome comments, thoughts, ideas...anything...

A book...

Namaste...Namaste...

The book in a week journey has come to a close...I wrote an introduction this morning and sent it off to a good friend to read. When I wrote to him I explained that not a lot of thought went into it - it was just something that happened. For example I didn't sit down and put pressure on myself to write - it all happened on Wednesday afternoon at my favorite coffee shop...the idea, the words just flowed.

It wasn't a struggle - just some words on a page - do you have anything you want to put down in writing? Do it this week...call it what ever you want - it can be a challenge, a goal, a wish...anything you want...Once you put the words down just let them go...then create something new and exciting the next week...every day is an adventure...

Just wanted to touch base and let you all know that the 'book in a week' project is going well - look forward to your thoughts and comments along the way...

Get-It-Done Guy's 9 Steps to Work Less and Do More...

Who wrote it?
Stever Robbins…

Who’s he?
He’s the Get It Done Guy

Who’s the Get It Done Guy?
Besides a man with many tips, he is a successful entrepreneur, Harvard MBA and MIT graduate…

What’s he done in the past?
Stever is a veteran of nine startups and he also authored ‘It takes a Lot More than Attitude’

What does this mean?
He likes developing things…

Stever Robbins
What’s he doing today?
He is CEO of Stever Robbins Inc, has a popular podcast called Quick and Dirty Tips, when it comes to anything to do with business he’s your guy…actually it’s more than business it’s life business…I’m only reviewing two chapters so I’m sure there is more…

His truth?
Helping people reach their dreams and be happy doing it…

Does he live it?
Yeah he sure does…his passion centers around helping younger and emerging business leaders by mentoring high school students through junior achievement, serving as a career coach and business plan judge at Harvard Business School…

All work and no play?
No not at all this dude does comedy improv, swing dancing, NLP, he sings, he hypnotizes and he even strategizes his way through board games…

What’s the book saying?
You’ll do so much more, and you’ll work so much less, that your boss will promote you; your loved ones will beam proudly; and your kids will gasp in awe and blame you for everything just a little bit less than they currently do.

Who will it speak to?
I’d say anyone involved in a committed career that often says ‘I wish I had more time’…anyone whose wife says ‘I wish you had more time for the family’ definitely should read this book!

Is that all?
No – parts of the book definitely spoke to me and resulted in me reminding myself to trust my trip. If any of these words grab ya – then it’s for you:

Living on purpose, no more procrastinating, conquering technology, beating distractions, staying organized, stop wasting time, optimizing, building stronger relationships and leverage…

When did he get my attention?
During the introduction the author says that through applying the steps your ‘Shoulders feel lighter, your body will vibrate with energy as you wander through fields of Lillies’…

These are physical experiences often reported back to me after a healing with a person so they are words that definitely resonate with me then I read on and learned that as a child he lived in a new age commune and loved putting on magic shows...After 18 years of living the wrong life it was after he set up his podcast (just past it's 7 millionth download!) that he began to reawaken his passion for media and performing...

What surprised me?
I really loved his presentation of goals and goal setting. I’m more of an ‘intentioner’ these days but really found the information useful.
The author speaks of goals “travelling in packs and at the bottom of the really big goals like ‘be successful’ are made up of sub-goals”. At the very bottom of all of these goals are concrete actions one must take in order to achieve the larger goals you have set for yourself.

What you will feel?
I’ll go out on a limb and really feel that people will see not only the presentation of great material but will see how the tools have been applied through the use of personal stories and the general flow of the topics. There is a focus on bringing people in and sharing – not isolating oneself in order to achieve. Throw in an encouragement to bring out the child within and you’ll be won over very early.
He’s lived it, shared it with thousands of people over the past ten years and now he is sharing it with you…

So what now?
Anyone with the true desire to reach people isn’t just about selling books so I’m sure Stever would be honoured for you to visit his website:

It is packed full of all forms of media and tips to get you started...

What about the Live Your Truth Guy?
Well, I’m going to write a book this week…

A book…in a week…Is this guy mad?
Well it’s just words put together on a page…I’m not thinking of an outcome just trusting my intuition and thought of Stever’s chapter on procrastination.
Some of you are aware I am writing a book about my life but this week I realised that a book can be about a very specific thing…so I thought hey…why not write a small book…

Thanks Stever…you reached me…

First Book Review coming tomorrow...

I’ve been blessed again this year with the opportunity to spend time out on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island in Carmanah…living on a beach is something I never thought would come my way so I won’t mention the off-shore fishing, cooking in the restaurant for the hikers battling the 75km west coast trail or being involved in some organic farming…I’ll just skip to how this book review came about!

On weekends I would return to Victoria for filming and while driving back to Port Renfrew one Tuesday my old pal Alex and I stopped for coffee. I checked my email before we went out of phone reception and had a follow up email from a woman named Nina regarding a book review…the idea resonated with me as it was something that just appeared – effortless.
So fast forward a few weeks and now I’m back in Victoria and managed to find the original email Nina sent me and ready to present my first ever book review!
It was in reading Nina’s emails that I realised for the first time I have ‘readers’…I mean it’s almost been a year since I started my blog, intitially to coincide with a story in Monday Magazine on my healing work and it’s grown from there...So anyway I thought ‘Readers’…I don’t have readers! Then I realised well maybe I do…yeah…yeah I do…so I thought my readers would love to hear about the book and duly replied…

So for the first time i’d like to say hello to all my readers out there and welcome you to my journey…or our journey…

Now back to the book…

Contrary to the belief of some of my friends my area of interest is spirituality and not so much self-help. If I was to apply a 9-Step process to my life I am likely to start at number four, jump to six and then start from one and think about things a tad too much…feeling my way through life is what works for me.
Going through the process of reviewing the first few chapters has been a wonderful experience for me and it came at a very reflective time. I’ll share more about that all soon.
I initially started by taking notes and being very logical about it. It didn’t work for me so I’ve gone about it in an intuitive way that works for me and I trust you will enjoy it…
So what’s the book? Who wrote it? I can hear you asking…check that out tomorrow and please sign up as a follower if that speaks to you...

Until then stay open…
